Paint your pinewood derby car several days before the race if possible. Paint that hasn’t fully cured will cause more friction when the wheel hub touches the car body.

Your Scout Organization can make this a group project
before the annual Pinewood Derby

This kit is easy to build. Assembly time is approximately 2 hours
when using a quick drying glue.

   In addition to the kit, you will also need:

  • Wood glue (Elmer’s White Glue, Carpenter’s Wood Glue or Duco Model Cement)
  • Six spring-type pincher clothes pins (optional)
  • Masking tape
  • Medium grit sandpaper (optional)
  • Xacto or similar knife. (used for the wheel cut-outs in the foam sheet)

Personalize your garage by painting it or adding decals with
your name or car name and number or pack or troop and so on.
