The Pro Hub tool has 3 important
uses in building a Pinewood Derby car and is the cornerstone of performance.
- Sizing wheel hub bores - Wheel hubs can vary in size in the molded
wheels that come in your kit. This tool will allow you to ream the
wheel hubs all to the same size. This is one of the most important
steps in wheel alignment because it allows the car to sit square with
equal radius's on the wheels (distance from the hub to the tread).
- Squaring hubs - All wheel hubs have defects from the molding process
that prevents them from being mounted correctly on a mandrel. This
tool will square the in-board hub to the centerline of the wheel, which
allows for the most accurate tread face finishing.
- Coning the hubs - All derby cars will benefit from coning the in-board
hub for a reduction in body to hub friction. Body contact is reduced
by 95%.
